Review:

The female inhabitants of this correctional institution have been convicted for gruesome crimes. Once sentenced the unlucky girls are considered ideal candidates for the Warden's sadistic rehabilitation program.

The women are food deprived and their bodies wracked with unspeakable torments. From shock treatment to sexual abuse from the staff, quick to enforce their pitiless principals.

After being starved and driven half-mad by the daily inhumane treatment, Berta writes an anonymous letter to the government, which is then intercepted by the Governor of the Island (who happens to be in cahoots with the Directress and her incompetent staff.) The letter instills fear over a potential Government inspection and also further enrages the Directress, who immediately implements harsher punishments to ensure that all guilty parties responsible for the creation and expedition of the letter get their just desserts.

And with the arrival of a new inmate, the angel faced Maria, recently convicted for murdering her incestuous father, the Warden's former lover. No one is safe from her infernal wrath!

Who will survive this savage tale of lust and corruption?

In Conclusion:

While I did enjoy this film immensely, it does have it's flaws. Mainly the awkwardly filmed flashback sequence involving Maria and her father, which unfolds in slow motion. It really is one of the most undesirably bizarre things I have ever seen. Thankfully the 2 minutes of ineptitude can be easily overlooked, when you think of all the exceedingly cruel and sleazy entertainment that awaits.

The sex scenes as usual are varied, but there are myriad lingering shots of female genitalia, which does become rather explicit with the inclusion of fingers and in the case of one deranged inmate, cigarettes. Obviously this won't be enough to appease any hardcore cravings, but it is distinctively Franco. And Lina Romay is hot enough to make me question my sexuality ;)
